The Blog
A closer look at my life as an artist.
THE ART WENT FLYING
Off the shelves. I mean, literally. It was a windy day. REALLY windy! We would have not been able to stay if it hadn’t been for a fellow art friend Raven Armstead. She ended up not being able to finish even setting up due to the wind. And while packing back up, she graciously offered up her weights for us to use. We gladly accepted! She saved the day!
FIRST OUTDOOR MARKET, EEK!
AHHH - how does one even do this? My first outdoor market is in less than a week! Here's a look at how it's going (currently Labor Day) and how it went (check back after 9/7/24)!
CHEERS TO FAILURE
Saying goodbye to University Pickers. Lots of lessons learned along the way so it wasn't all in vain. On to the next failure-venture!
ALBUM COVERS ARE FUN
Creative expression for pretend band M1NK and real love for real band Lume!
YOU NEED THIS
I made a beach towel. A HUNTSVILLE beach towel! An HSV specific beach towel. And yes, that really is our city’s abbreviation and yes I know what it also stands for.
SELLING YOUR ART IS EMOTIONAL
It is! I don’t want to get rid of any of it. Well, not “get rid of” but that’s how it feels. You spend so much time working on a piece. And you get attached when you’ve had it hanging in your house for a while. It’s a piece of you.
WHATEVER GETS THE JOB DONE
If you’re a professional artist, please don’t judge. I mostly have cheapy paints and brushes. Only recently did I get some fancier stuff to try out but I honestly can’t tell the difference.
