ALBUM COVERS ARE FUN
Just got back from a fun filled European family vacation. Feeling inspired by the coolness that was Dopamine Land, I turned this photo of my husband and son into a fake album cover for their fake band M1NK. The album title “Letters for Breakfast” randomly popped into my head while I was putting it together so there’s the deep meaning behind that. Probably should have kept you guessing.
I think I might start making more in this series. Album covers are fun to make.
I love, love, LOVE me a good album cover. My favorite album cover at the moment is Wrung Out by the band Lume.
For the longest time I thought that the person on this Lume album was a guy. I thought, ooh edgy. And then way later I noticed the finger tats. Ooh even more edgy. The composition, the image split on two separate mirrors. It just spoke to me.
Not knowing anything at the time about this band, I just had it in my head that this was who sang all the songs.
It literally takes two seconds to click on the band and see the members and realize this is not the case. You can even see the singer in their video for Keep Me Under. And Aurora Bridge. Very different. Not the same. Btw, the guitar sounds in these songs gives me life. But enough about all of this.
It’s whatever. The story I made up still lives in my head and exists as a fact along side the already in place fact. The band has two singers in my head. Creativity, right?
This band rocks and ever since I discovered them on Spotify and saw their cover image, I knew I had to get this particular one on vinyl. They even sent me a free sticker with my order that had a little hand written Thank You message :) DAWWW. Go give them a listen! Loss Leader is my favorite track. Their IG says they are working on a new album - I hope to see them live one day!
